Get ready for a night of exceptional music as The Hazel Project comes to The Word Barn playing tribute to the music written and recorded by bluegrass pioneers and legendary musicians, Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard.

With Betsy Heron (fiddle), Gretchen Bowder (banjo), Whitney Roy (guitar), and Lindsay Lassonde (bass), The Hazel Project features sweet soaring harmonies and tasteful tunes.

ABOUT THE HAZEL PROJECT

The Hazel Project pays tribute to the music written or recorded by bluegrass pioneers and legendary musicians, Hazel Dickens and Alice Gerrard. Hazel and Alice tackled subjects from social injustice to the hardships of workers, as well as love and loss. With Betsy Heron (fiddle), Gretchen Bowder (banjo), Whitney Roy (guitar), and Lindsay Lassonde (bass), The Hazel Project features sweet soaring harmonies and tasteful tunes –  traditional grassroots music to fill your heart and soul.

ABOUT THE MOUNTAIN

Local old-time and folk outfit The Mountain is Phil Boyd (banjo, mandolin), Colin Vandenbergh (mandolin, fiddle), Chris D'Amore (bass, guitar) and Joe Kenneally (guitar, banjo, fiddle).

At a Mountain show, you can expect rippin' old-time pickin', luscious harmonies, and beautiful dynamics. These four have been spending a little too much time over the past few years in Joe's barn playing music and the are thrilled to be bringing the results to The Word Barn.
