ABOUT ONEBEAT
Launched in 2012 by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and produced by the New York-based arts organization Found Sound Nation, OneBeat is a constellation of annual exchanges convening young international artist-leaders. Recognized as an innovator in global music diplomacy, OneBeat has worked closely with over 500 Fellows from 68 countries, producing over 300 events and workshops throughout the U.S. and the world.
OneBeat is the gathering place for the musical leaders of the 21st century – an incubator for music-based social entrepreneurship, where innovative musicians from around the world launch collaborative projects designed to make a positive impact on local and global communities.
Launched in 2012, OneBeat began as an annual U.S-based residency and tour program that brings early-career musicians together from around the globe to collaboratively write, produce and perform original music, and develop strategies for arts-based civic and social engagement. Over the past incredible 10+ years, we have seen this program grow from one annual U.S.-based residency and tour program to a constellation of year-round programming, including residencies & tours in countries around the world, a virtual residency, an artist-industry incubation program, a podcast, a development and training institute, and a schools curriculum.
