It's been way too long since we gathered inside The Word Barn for a Silo Series reading.

This will be a special afternoon, featuring two New Hampshire poets. Please come soak in and celebrate their words on the official first day of Spring!

Tickets are donation-based ($5/person suggestion), with registration required due to Covid-capacity limitations.


ABOUT ALEXANDRIA PEARY

serves as New Hampshire Poet Laureate. She is the author of nine books, including The Water Draft, Control Bird Alt Delete, Prolific Moment: Theory and Practice of Mindfulness for Writing, and most recently, Battle of Silicon Valley at Daybreak. Her work has received a 2020 Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellowship, Best of NH, the Iowa Poetry Prize, and Notable Essay in Best American Nonfiction. She specializes in mindful writing and gives frequent talks on the topic, including a recent webcast for National Novel Writing Month, presentations for New Hampshire Humanities, and a popular webinar for the National Council of Teachers of English. Her 2019 TEDx talk, "How Mindfulness Can Transform the Way You Write," is available on YouTube. She teaches creative writing and mindful writing at Salem State University. Alex is the founder and editor-in-chief of Under the Madness, a new literary magazine edited by NH teens.


ABOUT ALICE B FOGEL

Alice B Fogel served as the New Hampshire poet laureate from 2104 through 2019. Her latest poetry collection is Nothing But, a series of poems exploring Abstract Expressionism and consciousness. Two of her previous books are A Doubtful House and Interval: Poems Based on Bach’s “Goldberg Variations,” which won the Nicholas Schaffner Award for Music in Literature and the 2016 NH Literary Award in Poetry. A recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, among other awards, she is also the author of Strange Terrain, on how to appreciate poetry even if you don’t “get” it. She works one-on-one with students with learning differences at Landmark College in Putney, VT, and hikes mountains whenever possible.
